Hello all!
The end of an era is nearing. I wish to formally announce that Carmel Music Center will be wrapping up business by the end of February 2025. As so many of you know, there has been a music store at this location since the 1960’s. Possibly the longest running retail business in Old Town Carmel, and one of the longest running businesses in Carmel’s history. I am proud to have been part of that legacy since forming Carmel Music Center in August of 1987.
At the time of inception, I had no idea what even the next 5 years would look like. With passion and enthusiastic endurance, Carmel Music Center thrived for almost 40 years, often through tough business environments, and the challenges of the covid pandemic. I am pleased to say that I am going out on my terms and my schedule, not because I have to, but because it is time for me to enjoy some things I have sacrificed over the decades. I will start by cleaning my garage.
While contemplating the exit for a while now, a few sincere attempts were made to have someone else continue here as a music store. That was always my preference. Unfortunately due to economic obstacles, the stars could not align and I finally decided to sell the building to a nice family owned business that I feel will be a good fit for the Arts and Design District.
We have already started liquidating inventory and there are deals to be had. So feel free to come by and see if there is anything of interest to you. We will continue selling products and fixtures until everything is gone.
I am forever grateful to the customers who have always made conscious attempts to purchase from local small businesses like Carmel Music Center. Last and most importantly, I want to say how grateful I am to my employees and music instructors, whom I’ve always felt are the best in the business. I truly value the relationships formed with them, and they are really what has been the driving force behind the tremendous success of Carmel Music Center.
Cheers and Peace,
David Rennard (Owner)
