Chris has been with Carmel Music Center for over 15 years. Chris comes to CMC with a wide base of knowledge in all styles and genres of guitar playing including Rock, Jazz, Metal, and Classical guitar. His teaching experiences include John A. Logan College, and Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC) Graduate Assistantship where he taught beginning, intermediate and first level applied lessons. Chris received his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from SIUC where he studied Electric Guitar with Tony Ruiz and Classical Guitar with Joseph Breznikar. He has played for the SIUC guitar ensemble and was lead guitar for Brent Stewart and the Sympathizers. Chris has a recreational interest in the history of music and all kinds of guitar styles, which he brings to the lesson room.
When not keeping his fingertips toughened up, Chris enjoys playing chess, watching sci-fi shows with his wife, and staying busy raising 3 boys.
